Friday's Reading

This was my third poetry reading. Did four poems. One I had written some time back for my middle daughter about her art. This piece is titled Releasing the Soul. I also did Just Writing, The Reading /em> (about my first poetry reading) and The Grip (which is relatively new).

There were only three readers this time. I did think the quality of the work presented was good. I hope the smaller group was just a result of vacation time alnd all.

today...

Barry to vets for shots. Looked at cars. I need to do some writing and reading this evening.

Meghan will be coming home on Friday. Have really missed her and will be so damn glad to see her. I hope I can take a little time off to spend with her. Work has been pretty demanding lately... I'll have to see what I can do.

Friday Follies...

Hoping for a good day. You have to start that way don't you?

Last night I did some rewrite work on a poem. I'm doing a reading tonight. Don't know yet if this poem will me included. Actually haven't selected material for certain yet. Not worried though. I have pleanty to choose from.

Yesterday's work at the office was very productive. Hectic, but I got everything planned finished. Today should be busy but not overbearing.

Still looking for a new car. Glad I don't have to do this often.

Thought for Today

There is nothing with which every man is so afraid as getting to know how enormously much he is capable of doing and becoming.

Summit Scribes

Last night I joined the "Summit Scribes Writers Group".The group meets relatively close to where I live and the active members represent a wide range of genre, which I believe is good in my case. They meet monthly, and this group is undergoing some changes - moving away from an emphesis on speakers to more of a direct focus on writing and critique. First meeting was worthwhile.

Friday, I plan to do the B & N poetry reading. I need to spend some time selecting two or three pieces.

Took Barry to the vets today for update on immunizations. Weighed 2 lbs 6 oz.

Went and looked at a couple of cars tonight. The Tracer has bitten the dust. Need to line up something new quickly [big sigh]

I think I'll check on the Giants game and go read for a while. No writing tonight.

Weekend Report

No, it wasn't the kind of weekend I had hoped for, but I survived.

We had an emergency vet trip with O.J. ( cat) and Friday evening started with a flat tire while on the way out for dinner. Needless to say, dinner out was scrapped.

There were good moments at home. And I did get both some writing and research done. Plus finished mowing the forest in the Back yard. I am afraind that somewhere along the line I may have overdone it and pulled something that I shouldn't have (related to surgary). I've got to decide if I need to call the doctor or not [sigh] still thinking.

I did get my glasses fixed. this is a good thing. They have been screwed up all last week and it was really frustrating.

I have a poetry reading on tap for Friday and a writing group meeting planned for tonight. Giants have been hot since the All-Star break sweeping Colorado four straight games. I was able to catch yesterdays game. Very good one.

Barry continues to consume a lot of time. But he's worth it.

Gotta get busy.... update later. I'm wiped out, but don't have the time to be wiped out [very big sigh]
