Friday & Excited

Three days Of Giants Baseball! Meghan & I will do tonight's game.

Tonight will start three days of Giants baseball right here in KC. Admittedly, it's not going to be like games at Pac-Bell, but just the same this is pretty exciting stuff! Not much expectation as far as writing stuff the next three days. Maybe shore up and decide on the poem The Grip once and for all. But otherwise, I don't expect to do much. Maybe some Saturday and late Sunday time writing, I'll just have to see. But I am excited about the Giants games and spending time with my family.

Wednesday - Get Up Off Your Rejected Ass and Get Busy Report

Soreness continues - sigh
I'm alive and in one piece, but the piece still is sore. Espically since the slacks I wore today were a bit tighter. This is not a good thing. I'm so damn anxious to be able to forget I ever even had this done. Hum.... wondering when will that happen?

Watched the Giants Game
I made the decision to do this.... perhaps with three live games coming up Friday - Sunday I should have skipped it tonght, but damnit... a fan has to do what a fan has to do. Losely translated, that means I had to watch it. Most of it anyway. Top of the 9th and the Giants were well within a safety range. I let Meghan have the TV for something and I moved to the computer hoping to peek in on a Forward Motion class I really wanted to take tonight. That didn't work. but I saved the evening anyway!

The Grip

You might say I got a grip on things as I turned to writing. Took a poem idea that has been floating around inside my head and unleashed it. It's a baseball poem, entitled The Grip. I'm very happy with what I got down on paper tonight. Want to take another look at it tomorrow. Maybe toy with it some and get some outside input. When I am satisfied with this one, I think I will feel really good because this is like something I have been trying to get out for some time. This is a nice feeling. The soul is fed! Goodnight!

Double dip of Rejection

Reality slaps me back in shape. ::Grin:: Two rejections in the mail last night. Old Eyes and Cerebral Cobwebs again. This time from Chicory Blue Press. In one respect I'm not surprised. Chicory leans toward women and older writers. I selected them for these two poems because of the material. I would normally not have expected to fit the typical publication candidate for this press. Still, you try, and you learn.

I'm feeling the urge to get really busy and absorbed in my writing again now. Still uncomfortable somewhat today, but improving none the less.

Sunday Evening

It's early Sunday evening. I've been out of the house this morning. Still experiancing some pain. Pain pills are helpful but I can go longer without them. I can better picture myself going into the office tomorrow. Will need to be realistic about not overdoing it though.

Yesterday, I watched the Emperor's Club and you can catch my short review at the link.

Well, this is going to be short and sweet! Finished for now!
