Ok, here's the good the bad and the ugly of last night.
The Giants game was actually a late game, they were at home, not on the road. I watched it, sort of. I saw most of it and it was a great game. Reuter pitched well and the Giants got to Lieter for an 11-3 win. I fell asleep (sigh) late into the game. I got off the couch and tossed a pillow on the floor and got all comfy and zap!The lights went out in my head.
I did manage to get the swing on the deck put together. My daughter mowed 2/3 of the back yard till it was dark. I was going to write for 30 minutes at the end of the game, but I woke up at 2 AM to see that the game was over and couldn't bring myself to do it. I simply went to bed.
Still, it has been a great week thus far and I WILL WRITE TONIGHT!
Oh, earlier in the evening, I saw a small portion of What's Eating Gilbert Grape on TV. It really looked interesting. I've never seen it but I must put it on my things to watch list.

Lots To Do Tonight
I have done really well with writing this week. The temptation is to take a breath of air tonight... but I don't want to.
Problem is, I haven't watched a baseball game in several days and the Giants play the Mets tonight in NY so they will be on earlier here than normal. Plus, I still need to finish putting the swing together out on the deck and mow the back yard, which is beginning to look like the north 40. It has really gotten out of hand with all the rain we've had. Then there are a few other odds and ends that need tended to.
I think for the sake of momentum, I have to do some writing tonight. Even if it is only 20 or 30 minutes. I can surely squeeze that in somehow. I also need to remember that we will likly be busy Saturday for a better part of the day and this means I won't be able to count on much then. There, that's settled! I write at least a half hour tonight at some point.

Hump Day
It's Hump Day and it's been quite a ride already this week. Momentum... got to keep it going!!! You can never have too much of it.
I've compleated last rewrite of my essay for The Writer Magazine contest. It goes in the mail tomorrow - errr later today now that it is the 15th. I am satisfied with the final product. It grew from about 550 words to 739 on the last rewrite. This is fine since the criteria calls for a 500 to 1,000 word essay.
Last night I got more of the basics squaired away. It still lacked emotion and color. Tonight I added the more human element it was missing and walla!
Now to clean up my mess for the night and off to bed! Yahoo!!!
The week just gets better!

Last Night's Progress
Fresh from a visit to my mothers for dinner, I got busy working on an essay rewrite. (patting self on back) That went well. I will likely rehash it some tonight to make sure I still like the finished product. Honestly I am not satisfied with it yet, so I am sure it will find yet more revision at that time. Also worked on a new poem. I finished with the rewrite stuff about 11:15 and continued to do the poetry work on a pad in bed.
Was up this morning and ate early. Did a critique on a poem posted on the Forward Motion site and I still have it to post yet this morning. All and all, this week continues to advance well. I am pleased with my productivity.
The trick the rest of the week will be to continue the writing and at the same time effectively balance it with some things that need to be done around the house. Also, not overdo myself as I am still hoping to get my surgery reset for sometime soon and I need to stay reasonably well. I have a call in to the doctors office from yesterday, so hopefully I will hear something today.

Monday's Results
I chose to skip the work on the essay in favor of some poetry writing. Toyed with both some re-write ideas and some noew work. I was happy with results for the amount of time spent. It is good to get back into the grove. Still, I will need to put some effort into the essay piece. We have some evening plans out away from home, so I will have to work around that factor tonight.
Seems to be a lot of stuff going on at Forward Motion this week. I need to plan some time to spend involved there as well.
All and all, it looks like a good start to the week. I'm pleased.
The past week was very busy. It was also very frustrating.
First, I was supposed to have some minor surgery on Thursday. It had been a very busy week and I stared battling a sinus infection the first part of the week. Wanted desperately to get the surgery done and over so I could move on. Thursday at the hospital, Dr. decided my congestion was not a problem, lungs were pretty clear, but I had developed a bad cough. Concern was that I would cough the stitches out. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
In the end, I think the Dr. made the right decision, my coughing by Friday was almost catastrophic. But cleared some over the next two days. Dr. put me on more medication. I'm a walking chemical lab. I will have to reschedule my surgery. Soon, hopefully.
I hoped to spend the down time Thursday - Sunday writing. I didn't. But it is a new week and time to kick myself into gear. I have a rewrite of an essay that must be finished by Thursday. Really Wednesday, it will need to be mailed off Thursday.
I need caffeine badly! Need to go on a search for some.
